The Winter Dance Party is an annual tribute to Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and JP “The Big Bopper” Richardson, who played their last concert at the Surf Ballroom on Feb. 2, 1959. Thousands of fans flock to the Surf Ballroom to celebrate the lives and legacies of these three rock ‘n’ roll legends lost too soon. Shake Baby Shake & The Lovettes will headline Friday night’s show, delivering a high-energy tribute to the golden era of 1950s and ‘60s rock and roll. Led by Lance Lipinsky, star of the Tony Award-winning Million Dollar Quartet, and backed by the Chicago-based showband The Lovettes, their performances capture the nostalgic spirit of rock and roll's heyday with an authentic sound and dazzling stage presence.
