A beautiful 80-acre park offers trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. Located in Rock Falls, along the Shellrock River. The covered bridge and rare native prairie remnants provide the opportunity for peaceful reflection as well as beautiful photo ops. Enjoy a picnic or a relaxing river float. Canoe/kayak launch is available. Cast your line in the 1-acre pond (maximum depth of 8 feet) which contains Green Sunfish, Bluegill, Yellow Perch, and Northern Pike. A perfect spot for fishing with the kiddos! 1.25 miles of river frontage is also accessible for fishing. Common catches include Channel Catfish, Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike, Walleye, White Sucker, Common Carp, and Redhorse. The modern campground offers 42 electrical sites with 30-amp service. Showerhouse, firewood, dump station, and water fill are available. Campsites are available on a “first-come, first-serve” basis. No advance reservations. The trailhead to the Shellrock River Greenbelt Trail is located at 295th Street south of Wilkinson Park. The North Iowa Snow Seekers maintain a 7.5 mile groomed snowmobile trail through the Shellrock River Greenbelt and Preserve. NOTE: Snowmobiles are not allowed on any other Cerro Gordo County Conservation Areas and must remain on the designated trail.
