Resembling a 1920s fire station, visitors will step back in time to the early days of firefighting. Built by local volunteer firefighters, this museum – the first fire museum in the State of Iowa – houses a great collection of photographs, mementos, and antique equipment. The community’s very own 1924 Ahrens Fox Pumper Engine – the “Rolls-Royce” of fire engines- is among the displays and exhibits. The museum is located adjacent to the newly constructed fire station, within walking distance to the 9/11 Steel Memorial. This public display was crafted as the celebration of brotherhood to tighten the bond of all who were touched on that horrible day in 2001. HOURS: Memorial Day-Labor Day: Saturday-Sunday 1:00 PM-4:00 PM or by appointment ADMISSION: Free will donation
