Linda McCann will be presenting her book ‘Prisoners of War in Iowa’. Iowa had been about 25,000 German, Italian, and Japanese prisoners of war live and work here between 1943 and 1946. There were two main camps at Algona and Clarinda, and also about 17 branch camps where the POWs did short-term work. She will share memories of people who worked with the prisoners or got to know them. This event is free and open to the public. All ages welcome.
