Common Thread
Elizabeth Morisette continues to participate in transformative quilting workshops that refine the craft. Inspired by traditional log cabin techniques and the quilts of Gee’s Bend, Morisette began experimenting with structure and storytelling through fabric. Amid current news coverage consumed by Morisette, certain repeated words sparked the creative process, influencing patterns, colors, and textures. The resulting collection, Common Thread reflects the connections that unite us, with recurring fabrics symbolizing our shared experiences. This exhibition invites viewers to explore the power of quilting as both art and narrative, weaving together themes of identity, history, and community. The Clear Lake Arts Center is open Wednesday-Saturday, 10 AM-4 PM. For more information about the Clear Lake Arts Center, visit clearlakeartscenter.org or facebook.com/CLArtsCenter.
