Spring Break Family Day provides everyone an opportunity to explore Mason City and have a chance to win great prizes! You can pick up a passport at any of the five featured locations, Visit Mason City, located at 2021 4th Street SW, or download a printable passport >> HERE.

Featured Attractions

The Music Man Square (308 S. Pennsylvania Avenue) – Immerse yourself in the world of Meredith Willson's "The Music Man" as you take a walk down the historic 1912 streetscape replica from the movie. Check out an exhibit of what makes up a marching band in the museum, take a minute to count all 76 trombones hanging from the ceiling, get a souvenir at the gift shop, and stop for a cool treat at the old-fashioned ice cream parlor (don’t forget to try their homemade hot fudge!).

Charles H. MacNider Art Museum (303 2nd Street SE) – Discover the magic of art and creativity at the MacNider Art Museum with guided tours at 1:30 PM and 2:30 PM. You’ll be stepping into the world of master puppeteer Bil Baird, where his marionettes come to life, and marveling at the talent of North Iowa students as you explore their inspiring artwork on display for the 41st Annual School Art Exhibition. Looking for a hands-on experience? The Imagination Playground offers an interactive space where children and families can tap into their creativity and play.

Historic Park Inn (15 W State Street) – The Historic Park Inn Hotel is more than a beautifully restored landmark—the last remaining hotel designed by iconic architect Frank Lloyd Wright offers an opportunity to explore Wright’s signature Prairie School design style. You’ll learn how his innovative design principles, from open floor plans to integrating his works with nature, continue to shape how we live today. And don’t miss the Wright on the Park headquarters, located on the first floor of the hotel, for unique gifts!

Architectural Interpretive Center (520 1st Street NE) – Learn about Mason City's architectural heritage at The Robert E. McCoy Architectural Interpretive Center. Exhibits showcase architectural models and historic photos of Mason City’s architectural gems. The center also features Prairie School exhibits and a gift shop.

Kinney Pioneer Museum (9184 265th Street, Clear Lake) – If you like a good scavenger hunt, then make sure to stop at Kinney Pioneer Museum for a chance to win a sweet prize! This fun, interactive activity will take you back in time to experience the history of North Iowa and learn more about historical pioneers. The museum’s displays range from a one-room schoolhouse, a log cabin, and a jail to exploring life on the Iowa frontier (weather permitting).

Join the fun! Don't miss out on this opportunity to explore, learn, and win prizes with your family.
